Edward S. Curtis American, 1868-1952

The exhibition was the premier institutional presentation of the Masterwork Copper Photogravure Printing Plates, the source works for Curtis's The North American Indian as well as rare examples representing every photographic medium in which Curtis worked. Importantly, the exhibition provided the backdrop venue for the DEPART Foundation’s December 15, 2016 hosting of the first and only public conversation in Los Angeles with Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault II about the Dakota Access Pipeline with panelists Jane Fonda, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Bruce Kapson, moderated by Jon Christensen:
