Provenance

Kale Family Collection

A truly extraordinary example of The Scout - Apache in the Goldtone medium, appearing in an excellect condition original Curtis Studio frame. Original Curtis Studio Description Label attached to an archivally conserved frame back.

This Goldtone is one of the only 15 percent that were produced by Curtis which had both perfect exposure and a near flawless emulsion.

The image itself is luminous and brilliant, neither too dark nor too light, representing the perfect and most desired exposure to be found in the Goldtone process.
