Provenance

Kale Family Collection

A brilliant example of the rare Goldtone image of The Chief of Crater Lake in the original Curtis Los Angeles Studio frame.

This Goldtone is one of the only 15 percent that were produced by Curtis which had both perfect exposure and a near flawless emulsion.

The image itself is luminous and brilliant, neither too dark nor too light, representing the perfect and most desired exposure to be found in the Goldtone process.
