An excellent example of The Clam Digger in the Goldtone medium, appearing in the original Curtis Seattle Studio frame with a Curtis Studio Sticker on the frame back.
This Goldtone is one of the only 15 percent that were produced by Curtis which had both perfect exposure and a near flawless emulsion. The image itself is luminous, neither too dark nor too light, representing the perfect and most desired exposure to be found in the Goldtone process. The Goldtone print itself is nearly flawless – no staining, no finger prints, no dust, scrathes, no missing spots of emulsion, no discoloration or staining to any areas of the emulsion.
The original Curtis Seattle Studio frame is in fair condition, upper right corner missing area of compound, and left vertical frame member shows areas of retouching.
