This Volume X is numbered Set 84, originally from the 12 Volume Set of the subscriber C. C. Wothington, one of 195 original subscribers to “The North American Indian,” from an edition of 272 of the proposed edition of 500.
The condition of this Volume X is excellent. Overall, this example of Volume X equals the best condition of any single original Curtis Volume I’ve seen in 35-plus years in the field.
The pages all remain crisp and brilliant, the images all crisp and well inked with only the very slightest of foxing seen from the presence of the original interleaving tissue. Binding is solid, and when open the Volume remains crisp and tight. The spine and four corners of the front and back covers bound in brown morocco leather, covers are of laminated binders board with the central panel on each board covered with heavy cloth, presents in excellent original condition.
