An extraordinary example of a vintage Zuni inlaid and sterling silver ranger buckle set by lapidary masters Celestine and Elizabeth Cooche, circa 1970s.
This is classic and highly collectable Zuni set consists of turquoise, jet, white shell, and spiny oyster shell. The surrounding sterling silver work consists of ropes and stamping. Signed "C & E. Cooche, Zuni, NM."
The buckle part of the set measures 1.75 inches L. x 1.50` inches W., each of the keepers measure approximately 1 inch L. x .75 inches H. x .25 inches W., and the end tip measures approximately 1.25 inches L. x .75 inches W. This ranger buckle set can fit a belt width of up to .75 inches. The buckle set weight is 41.4 grams.
This set has remained in the same family since it was originally purchased in 1972.
